... while I can't help you with the laundry, I can help you and your kids look stylish (on a budget) and feel good about saving the environment!
Nicole Raby, tamer of textiles
Hey there, I'm Nicole, welcome to Banana Roo! I'm so tickled pink to be here, in scenic Okotoks, living the dream! You might be wondering about the name, cute right? I have 2 little girls: Anna Banana & Addie Roo. They’re my dreams come true. This business was inspired by motherhood, fast-growing kids, and the desire to make shopping for families a little more affordable — and a lot more meaningful.
There are so many jobs as a parent it can be overwhelming and exhausting. While I can't help you with the cooking or the cleaning or that tantrum in aisle 2, I look forward to helping you where I can. Where is that? Let's start with decluttering your house, selling your too-small or done-with maternity and children's clothes, and making it easy to replenish your wardrobe for your growing baby bump or children. (How did they grow that fast anyway?)
Life can be hard. Let's make it easy.
why it matters
Our mission is to empower families to shop and sell sustainably, building a greener future for our children, one gently used item at a time.
Do you remember the slogan: "Save the Earth it's the only one we've got"? I stand by it, that's why at Banana Roo we really want to do our part to create a positive impact on the environment, let's kick it back to the good ol' Reduce Reuse Recycle mantra and remember, every little bit helps.
The tea on the Tee
It takes approximately 2,700 liters of water to make one standard cotton T-shirt. Water is a precious commodity, we shouldn't waste it
Saved with care
We believe every little bit counts and we can all play a role in making the world better, one stitch at a time.
Oh blue jeans...
We love them but 3,000+ liters (790 gallons) of water is needed to produce a single pair of jeans, but it takes no more water to recycle a pair!
